Huntley students recognize girls basketball team

Huntley High School Monday held a pep rally and part of the celebration was for the Red Raiders’ girls basketball team, which advanced to the state Class 4A Final Four last weekend at Redbird Arena in Normal.

Even though Huntley lost its semifinal game to Rolling Meadows, 61-44, and its third-place contest against Whitney Young, 60-27, the Red Raiders brought home the program’s first state trophy with their fourth-place finish.

Huntley will return four starters from this year’s 26-8 team, and will be looking forward to a possible return trip to the state tournament.
