Authorities believe Des Plaines man assaulted more victims

Cook County sheriff’s officials said Friday they’re looking to find additional victims of a man suspected of sexually abusing young girls.

Pareshkumar Desai, 50, of Des Plaines was charged Feb. 20 with seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the sheriff’s office.

Family members called police Feb. 10 after a 9-year-old girl told a relative that Desai inappropriately touched her and two 8-year-old girls at a gathering in Mount Prospect.

Desai is being held at Cook County jail in lieu of $900,000 bail. He is due in court March 20.
