Why pay billions for foreign oil?

Every poll contends that Obama is the chief culprit in preventing Americans from getting reasonable oil prices.

Prices when Obama first won in 2008 were something like $1.85 at the pump (regular). Today prices are in the $4 range. That is absurd — 99.9 percent of the people cannot afford the “inefficient” hybrids today. (I was a mechanic for 35 years.)

Today’s air is much cleaner that it was years ago, thanks to emission tests and greater restrictions at the various carmakers’ plants, not because Obama is pushing hybrids. Worst of all, the United States has more oil on its land than there is in the entire Mideast, but Obama will not allow drilling.

We could easily become independent from foreign oil, with greater relief from debt that we now give because and for foreign oil. Why pay foreign oil billions when we have what we need here?
