On Wednesday, February 27th, Washington School held a McTeacher's Night at the McDonald's on Milwaukee Ave. Teachers took over the restaurant serving up delicious meals to students and families to raise money for the school. Twenty teachers each worked for half hour shifts. The McTeacher jobs included; drive-thru, greeters, cleaning the lobby, front counter , serving drinks, clearing tables, making ice cream cones, and making smoothies. There were teachers singing for tips and teachers collecting tips. Washington school had it all covered, and the families all had a great time.

The School plans to use the money raised to go into the PTO fund for future programming. Many students, teachers, families and friends came out to support the school and see the teachers work at McDonald's. It was an outstanding show of support!. A special appearance by Ronald McDonald helped make this fundraiser a memorable evening. Families enjoyed taking pictures and talking with Ronald McDonald. It was a great night!

Ronald's appearance was courtesy of the Des Plaines McDonald's owner/operators, the Schenk Family. For more information about events provided by the Des Plaines McDonald's contact the Des Plaines McDonald's Community Relations Director, Julie.Travers@comcast.net.
