Great Society started decline of families
One of the problems that I see facing the United States of America is the decline in the family unit. Up until the Lyndon Johnson Great Society, a family was comprised of a mother and father, which was one of the strongest building blocks of this nation.
However, after the Great Society went into effect, it became a way to make money by maintaining a single-parent household. This has been tremendously devastating. Children need the guidance of a mother and father to teach them discipline and values.
It is neither the responsibility of our schools nor our faith communities to provide such guidance. These settings are the perfect places to practice these values once they have been taught in the home by parents.
Unless this country changes its approach to the family unit, this country is headed for demise.
