Palatine Park District presents indoor movie night

Palatine Park District presents its annual indoor movie event, A Seuss Celebration, from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave. This family-friendly event will feature all things Seussical, including Seuss crafts and a showing of the movie, “The Lorax.”

The fee is just $10 per family, space is limited, and preregistration is required. To register online, visit www.palatineparks.org, and use code 6413-4. Registration can also be done in person at Community Center, 250 E. Palatine Road; Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave.; and Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road.

This year’s indoor movie theme is Seussical in nature to celebrate the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, author of 46 children’s books, many of which were known for their imaginative characters and rhyme.

In “The Lorax,” a 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it, he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.
