  • Article
text size: AAA

An early morning fire damaged a furniture repair shop in Fox Lake Saturday, officials said.

Fox Lake Fire Department Batallion Chief Ed Lescher said firefighters were called at 1:44 a.m. to the Furniture Doctor, 34 E. Grand Ave.

Lescher said it took firefighters about a half-hour to bring the fire under control and authorities left the scene around 4:30 a.m.

No one was injured, and officials are trying to determine the amount of damage.

"Some of the furniture may be antique. Some of it may be brand new. We're waiting for the owner (to provide an inventory)," Lescher said, noting the one-story building was not severely damaged.

Lescher said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
