Leaders going against their religion
Once again I am overwhelmed by the hypocrisy of our legislators — Pat Quinn, Michael Madigan, John Cullerton and more. All good Irish Catholic boys, probably even altar boys, supporting gay marriage. Please, fellas, don’t come to church on Sunday, bow your heads and pretend to pray to God. He’s not voting for you, and neither am I.
However, your gay constituents will. They will support you financially and even campaign for you. I think God won’t and I know I won’t. If you are the “new normal” politician, I’ll pass. I want someone who stands by the sanctity of marriage and family and has the courage to stand by their religious teachings.
