Mount Prospect seeks input on downtown plans

Mount Prospect residents and business owners are invited to attend an open house Thursday to discuss the village’s ongoing effort with the Regional Transportation Authority to redevelop and improve the downtown area.

The village and RTA are working with the Lakota Group to complete an assessment of downtown. The overall purpose of the plan is to determine how the downtown can continue to transform and improve in the years ahead. The study will re-evaluate the area and will result in a detailed implementation strategy used to guide the downtown’s future.

The open house discussion is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Executive Board Room on the third floor of village hall, 50 S. Emerson St.

Participants will view draft concepts related to streetscape, land use, and bike/pedestrian improvements, and will have an opportunity to provide consultants feedback.
