Antioch Township men charged in drug arrest

Two men were charged with drug offenses after Lake Villa police using a search warrant said they found a marijuana-growing operation at their home.

Lake Villa police, with assistance from the Lake County sheriff’s Special Investigation Unit, on Wednesday entered the home on the 4100 block of North Lotus Avenue in an unincorporated area of Antioch Township.

Ten marijuana plants, 163 grams of marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia were recovered, police said.

Christopher N. Jansen, 45, was charged with unlawful production of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful delivery of cannabis, police said. Rusty Meyers II, 20, was charged with misdemeanor possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both lived at the address, police said.

Jansen was taken to the Lake County jail and released the next day. Further details were not available on Monday. Meyers was processed at the Lake Villa police station and released with a court date of March 15, police said.
