Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?Without direct knowledge regarding the profitability of the current classes I would work with fellow board members and staff to review programs for low attendance and profitability. For programs that do not meet a certain threshold I would review for potential enhancements or cancellation of class. Potential issues could be date/hour of class, wrong demographic targeted or wrong price point. Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.I am in favor of additional land acquisition if the need and budget allow. Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves? With the unique demographics of Huntley we need to be aware of the growing trends of the senior generation as well as young families. While talking to residents, potential areas to enhance would be additional sports leagues such as lacrosse and also expanded fitness facilities and open space. Before adding additional burden to the Park District's budget all programs and facility enhancements would need to be reviewed in depth to determine long term revenue versus long term expenses. In today's economic conditions everyone, including Park Districts, need to watch their budget.Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency?I support collaboration between any and all public bodies. If there is an opportunity to enhance the well-being of the district residents by working together we owe it to the people to review from a budgetary standpoint. If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.I believe the Park District has done an excellent job providing recreational opportunities. During my 19 years in the district I have been involved in many activities with my family. The Park District has always provided a positive environment exposing my children to many new experiences. I would like to help ensure the Park District continues to provide excellent programs and learning opportunities in the future.
