Amazed at those who judge others’ values

Amazed at those who judge others’ values

I’m in awe of the ability of Christians to know the mind of God and judge the morality and value of everyone around them.

Labels of perverse, twisted and abominable applied to homosexuals must include my most loving and caring cousin, and these labels hurt my soul. He and his partner have been in a loving, exemplary gay relationship for 17 years. Their caring and respect for each other could be an example for all relationships.

I belong to the growing group of people, unaffiliated with religion, that believes that love, not judgment and righteousness, should guide my life. I believe that I do not know the mind of God, only that God is loving of all creation, and I, too must love and respect it. Jesus said that his great commandment was to love, and love is not harsh, demanding or full of judgment.
