Harper scholarship recipients say ‘thanks’ to donors

Harper College scholarship recipients this month penned heartfelt valentines to people they’d never even met: the donors whose contributions helped fuel their academic success.

One grateful recipient drove out of her way on a day that she didn’t have classes to make sure her valentine was signed, sealed and delivered; others noted that the scholarships enabled them to stick with college.

“One of the most important things in my life is my education, and I have been very fortunate to receive this scholarship,” one recipient wrote. “I look forward to my future.”

The thank-you card effort was organized by the College’s Educational Foundation, with an eye on celebrating those who make a difference in the lives of Harper students.
