Consumers Credit Union Recognizes Employees of the Year
Waukegan, IL, February 12, 2013: Consumers Credit Union (CCU) recently held its seventh Annual All-Employee Meeting at Keylime Cove Resort in Gurnee IL. A highlight of the event was the announcement of the Member-owned credit union's 2012 Employees of the Year.
“Consumers Credit Union is very proud to serve approximately 58,000 Members,” said Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President. “We're equally proud of the outstanding service provided by our staff. We're fortunate to have so many employees who go ‘above and beyond' to consistently exceed Member expectations. My personal congratulations are extended to our seven ‘super stars' from 2012, along with a note of appreciation to everyone on our team for making 2012 an outstanding year!”
CCU has seven (7) categories for Employees of the Year. Criteria for selection include delivering superior service by living CCU's “Brand Promise,” dedication to Members and the credit union, setting a positive example for peers and consistently meeting goals. The winners are listed below.
• Counter Service Representative: Beatrice Rivas, Waukegan office. Counter Service Representatives serve as Tellers in both the lobby and drive-up, handling thousands of transactions for Members on a daily basis.
• Member Service Representative: Charmeka Smith, Round Lake Beach office. CCU Member Service Representatives open new accounts for Members, enroll them in new services and provide answers to a wide variety of questions and inquiries from Members.
• Contact Center Representative (Kathy Petropoulos Award): Alexandra (Jana) Manon, Round Lake Beach office. Contact Center Representatives handle all phone inquiries for Members, including loans, deposits, general inquiries and questions about accounts. The award is named in honor of the late Kathy Petropoulos, long-time CCU Receptionist.
• Lending Department – Sales: Gregory Tonsul, Waukegan office. Lending Department – Sales includes front-line employees in the credit union's Mortgage, Consumer Loans and VISA Credit Card Departments.
• Lending Department – Support: Dale O'Donnell, Gurnee office. Lending Department – Support includes all employees in the Loan Departments who support our front-line staff.
• Office: Heather Lantz, Executive Assistant, Round Lake Beach office. CCU's Office staff includes all other support departments, such as Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Technology, Adjustments, Greeters, Electronic Services and Share Drafts.
• Manager of the Year: Paul Valenta, IS Manager, Waukegan office. All Department Managers from CCU's six branches and the Contact Center are eligible for this award.
Each of the seven winners received a plaque at the awards ceremony to commemorate their selection, along with a check for $500.00. A picture of CCU's 2012 Employees of the Year is attached below.
