3 hurt in crash near Long Grove

Three people were injured in a car crash near Long Grove Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The Long Grove Fire Protection District responded at 7:29 a.m. to a call about a two-vehicle accident on Old McHenry Road, just north of Hillcrest Drive in unincorporated Lake County, authorities said.

Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle crashed into some trees about 10 feet from the road. Long Grove Battalion Chief Marc Small said personnel from Lake Zurich and Countryside helped remove the driver and a passenger from the vehicle.

A second vehicle was still on the road with a damaged driver’s door, Small said, and the driver had to be extricated.

All three people were transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with injuries not considered to be life-threatening. The Lake County sheriff’s office is investigating the accident.
