Women's Board of Catholic Charities kicks off benefit season Feb. 6

On Wednesday, February 6, 2013, the Women's Board of Catholic Charities, Lake County Services, will hold its annual Kick-Off Luncheon for the Art of Caring Gala. The event, Changing Lives with Hope, will be held at 300 North Green Bay Road in Lake Forest. The featured speaker will be social entrepreneur, Connie Duckworth, former Partner and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs. She is Chairman and CEO of ARZU, which means “hope,” an organization which empowers destitute women weavers in rural Afghanistan. ARZU provides access to education and basic healthcare, builds community centers and creates award-winning fair-labor rugs.

The Women's Board expects a sell-out crowd of over 200 members and guests who will be greeted by Women's Board President Debby Lambert of Lake Forest; event chairpersons Joanie Reynolds and Mary Ann Moschner, also of Lake Forest and Midge Nelson of Lake Bluff.

The Women's Board is grateful to Northern Trust for generously underwriting this annual event.

The Kick-Off Luncheon raffle features a grand prize $1,000 gift certificate toward an ARZU Studio Afghanistan Woven Rug or $500 cash. Other prizes include a Kenyan Necklace, hand-woven Bolivian Alpaca reversible wrap/throw, and two tickets to the 2013 Art of Caring Benefit.

Luncheon tickets are $60. Contact Mary Ellen Mason, Associate Director of Development, at 847-782-4115 or mmason@catholiccharities.net or visit www.catholiccharities.net/kickoffluncheon for more information or to register by January 28.
