Naturalist to lead night hike at Dick Young preserve

See the beauty of the evening woods in winter at Dick Young Forest Preserve from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.

Forest Preserve District of Kane County Naturalist Barb McKittrick will lead a group through the popular Batavia preserve on this special, night hike. The moon will light the way as the group watches for nocturnal creatures. Participants will learn about animal adaptations for cold and snow, and how wildlife survives the season.

Are ages are welcome to this free, family program. Call (847) 741-8350 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register. Note, children must be accompanied by an adult. Advance registration is required.

Dick Young Forest Preserve is at 2S326 Nelson Lake Road, Batavia.
