Garage fire damages home near Wauconda

Firefighters from a few suburban departments battled a garage fire in an unincorporated area near Wauconda on Wednesday.

The fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. on the 26000 block of North Main Street. It started in the garage and seemed to have spread to the house, authorities said.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Crews from the Wauconda, Round Lake and Lake Zurich fire departments worked to get the fire under control. Main Street was blocked off for a time.

Firefighters remained on the scene as of 3:30 p.m.
