Bridges Montessori to hold open houses

Parents of potential preschool and kindergarten students for the 2013-14 school year can get a look at classrooms in action during Bridges Montessori Academy’s open house events in January.

Bridges will welcome observers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. Visitors will be invited into working classrooms where they can see how children learn in a Montessori environment.

Those unable to visit during the school day are invited to attend a special open house from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26. Private tour appointments also are available.

Steeped in Montessori philosophy, Bridges Montessori Academy, 716 Oak St. in St. Charles, offers a multilevel guided curriculum for children in preschool through kindergarten in an environment set up to nurture concentration, coordination, order and independence.

For parents of children entering first through fifth grades, tour appointments also are available at Bridges Academy, 1716 Howard St. in St. Charles. With its limited class size, the elementary program responds to the needs of each child by using differentiated instruction in a set curriculum that helps develop the whole child.
