Same-sex marriage should be allowed

There has been a lot of controversy lately whether or not to allow same-sex marriages. I believe that it should be a constitutional right to be able to have the freedom to marry — even if it’s the same sex. I think that as long as couples are happy, they should be allowed to be together.

Personally, I think that society shouldn’t single out anyone who is different and discriminate against them, people should instead learn to accept it and realize that not everyone is the same.

If someone admits to have a same-sex appeal, then one should respect it because it might have taken them all the courage they had to get it out in the open and sharing it with someone other than themselves. Some people just can’t help being who they are.

Personally, I think that it is better to be open with your preference because if you keep it inside, it will be harder on you and you might pretend to live a different life instead of being open and happy about it. Parents as well, should learn to love their child unconditionally and accept who they become or who they’ve always been.

The government should realize that times have changed and that there should be no limits as to who you can and can’t marry. It should just be left up to the people to decide who they want to be with and to have states allow same sex marriage. Otherwise, it would be discrimination against gays.
