Submitted by Visiting Angels of South Elgin

Physical exercise is very important, but as you age, brain exercise is even more critical. To help promote concentration and mental focus, Visiting Angels of South Elgin will be collecting games and puzzles to give to seniors.

Bring new or gently used board games, card games, simple puzzles, large print puzzles, word search books and memory games for senior citizens now through February to Visiting Angels of South Elgin, 65 Woodbury St. Games can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

“We encourage our caregivers to bring games to their assignments and encourage them to engage their client’s to play any one the games with them. Playing a simple board game or putting a puzzle together stimulates brain health,” says Arlene Petersen, owner of Visiting Angels in South Elgin. “It’s all about helping our clients stay alert and we are happy to lend out games to promote a sharp mind for our seniors.”
