Hugo's soup special
Hugo's Frog Bar and Fish House celebrates national soup month with its specialty of the house, Bookbinder soup. Now through Jan. 31, try this creation that starts with homemade fish stock and includes tomatoes, bell peppers, cilantro, parsley, rosemary, dry sherry and fresh fish. The Bookbinder soup costs $2 for a cup or $6 a bowl. Or try Hugo's signature clam chowder for $4.25 for a small bowl or $6 for a large bowl.

Travel from near and far to Bob Chinn's Crab House for the surf and turf special. For a limited time, choose a 6-ounce prime rib or New York strip steak and the basa white fish, fried clams or fried shrimp. The meal comes with a signature Mai Tai and soup or salad for $18.99. The special runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

New season, new menu at Il Poggiolo
Il Poggiolo ushers in 2013 with new menu items priced between $9 and $28. They include the steamed Pei mussels appetizer with caramelized leeks, garlic, white wine, cherry tomatoes and chili aioli toast; and entrees like homemade pappardelle with wild mushrooms, truffle cream sauce and Parmesan and red wine-braised lamb shank with fresh herbs, eggplant caponata, pine nuts, golden raisins and lemon zest.
