Social Security didn’t cause deficit

Retirees and workers need to keep a close eye on some people’s ideas on how to lower our federal deficit. Too many people don’t know this, but Social Security is not why we have a big debt. Social Security is something we all contribute to through taxes taken out of every paycheck we ever earned. The deficit is caused by bad spending choices, such as all these tax breaks for millionaires and big businesses and two long wars that were put onto the nation’s credit card.
