Des Plaines officials to address chamber members

Des Plaines City Manager Mike Bartholomew and his staff will present the city’s 2013 plans for Des Plaines, review the 2012 accomplishments and discuss the continuing relationship between business and local government at a Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce breakfast, 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Manzo’s Banquets, 1571 S. Elmhurst Road, Des Plaines.

The Chamber also will presenting its annual Community Enhancements awards to the following businesses: Catholic Charities, Des Plaines, for services to the community; Des Plaines Elementary School District 62, for its three-year facility renovation and other planned improvements of the school district; Boston Fish Market, for its new and larger facility in the city and expanded retail sales; and to Rand Road Red Hots, a new business providing additional dining options.

Cost is $30 for members, $40 for nonmembers, and the registration deadline is Thursday, Jan. 10. Contact the chamber for details.
