Eating out: Carlucci welcomes new chef, flavors

Carlucci's new chef and menu items

The new executive chef at Carlucci brings an award-winning background and several new tastes to the menu. Jonathan Harootunian, who formerly cooked at the Michelin-starred Courtwright's, offers new flavors for pizza, pasta and steak. Try the sauteed whitefish “vivace” with roasted potatoes, broccoli rapini and brown butter vinaigrette for $19.95.

Yumz yogurt comes to Warrenville

Winter brewmaster dinner at Emmett's

Dine and drink with a master at Emmett's brewmaster dinner at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10. Dinner includes a roasted beet trio, followed by a roasted tomato basil bisque, a coconut sorbet, and the entree — the McCarthy Red Ale BBQ braised beef brisket. For dessert, enjoy a port-poached, Godiva-dipped Anjou pear. Beers include the Belgian Wheat Ale, Double Red Ale, Lemon Drop Liqueur, American IPA, and Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. $59.99 per person including gratuity.
