Des Plaines Welcomes 3 Firefighter Paramedics and 6 Police Patrol Officers

Surrounded by City of Des Plaines officials, administrative personnel, co-workers, friends and family, three firefighter/paramedics and six police patrol officers were sworn into service with the City at 1 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in the Des Plaines Council Chambers, 1420 Miner Street. The new fire department personnel will attend the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA), Glenview, IL from January 14, 2013 through March 15, 2013. Police officers will attend the Chicago Police Academy for approximately twelve weeks.
