College of DuPage/Daily Herald Career Fair Feb. 2

College of DuPage and sponsor The Daily Herald will host a series of free job preparation workshops that culminate in a Career Fair on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 2000.

The free event and workshops are open to currently unemployed and underemployed workers, as well as career changers and new graduates seeking their first employment opportunity.

“What separates this event from other career and job fairs are the free workshops hosted by the College to prepare attendees for interactions with potential employers,” said Career Services Manager Steve Gustis. “These sessions will include information on networking, building a solid resume, interviewing skills and general information about searching for a job. In addition, participants will receive helpful tips about ‘hot jobs,' including current and future hiring trends and growth industries in the DuPage area and beyond.”

The Feb. 2 Career Fair will feature a wide range of area employers who have jobs available and plan to meet with and interview candidates for on-the-spot and future positions. In addition, information will be available on the College's GED program, non-credit classes, and certificate and degree options.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for both job-seekers and local employers to match up skills and successfully fill positions,” Gustis said.
