Lake Park makes Wheeling consolation

Lake Park shot 20 of 31 from 2-point range to beat Prospect 63-55 on Friday, the Lancers’ second straight win at Wheeling. That puts the Lancers in Saturday’s consolation championship game against Maine West at 5:30 p.m.

Senior guard Carlos Cortez led the way for Lake Park with 15 points, and senior center Jake Ktsanes had 13 on 5-for-8 shooting from the field. Mikey Van Aswagen (11 points) and Sean Moore (10) also reached double figures for Lake Park.

Devin O’Hara had a game-high 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Prospect (9-4) shot 52.6 percent from the field, made 7 of 13 3s and outrebounded Lake Park 22-16.

The Knights meet Vernon Hills in their tournament finale at 2 p.m. Saturday.

St. Francis 50, Timothy Christian 38: Andrew Kimball and Jason Pisarski each scored 10 points for the Spartans (9-2) to advance into the third-place game at the Glenbard West Holiday Classic. Connor VanderBrug led all scorers with 19 points for Timothy Christian (4-10) while Danny Leach added 13 points.West Chicago 60, Fenton 48: John Konchar continued to light it up at the Glenbard West Holiday Classic, pouring in a game-high 33 points for the victorious Wildcats (3-9). Ryan Weier chipped in 11 points. Will Harris paced Fenton (2-10) with 13 points and Greg Wagner scored 10 points.Wheaton North 49, WW South 42:The Falcons (4-5) scored a win over the rival Tigers (3-7) at the Romeoville tournament. Jaylen Howze led Wheaton North with 18 points. Addison Trail 41, Glenbard South 38:The Blazers (6-9) pulled out a close one at the Romeoville tournament behind Jordan Garcia#146;s 13 points. Alex Jeske led all scorers with 17 points for Glenbard South (2-10).Pinckneyville Tournament:Montini improved to 10-2 with a pair of victories. The Broncos beat Lawrenceville 56-44 as Simmie Cobbs scored 25 points and Patrick Mooney added 14 points. Montini also posted a 55-34 win over DuQuoin. Cobbs again led the way with 16 points while Logan Goss scored 11 points.Lisle 49, Plano 33:Taking a 14-2 lead on the Christmas Classic host after one quarter, Lisle (8-6) got 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals from Lamont Ross, 10 points from point guard Cody Monson and 13 rebounds by Jeremy Glavanovits. Lisle forced Plano into 13-of-50 shooting and will play Mendota for ninth place.Immaculate Conception 57, Evergreen Park 42:The co-host of the IC/Westmont Tournament will play St. Edward for the title at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Westmont. IC (11-3) led 21-6 after a quarter. Clark Brinkman scored 17 points, Demetrius Carr 16 and Adam Muellers 11 for the Knights.
