Police: Chicago baby sitter was falling-down drunk
A 23-year-old woman has been charged with a misdemeanor after the Chicago couple who hired her to baby-sit came home to find her falling-down drunk, police said.
The Chicago Tribune reported that police charged the sitter with endangering the health of a child.
The couple left their 13-month-old child in her care on Christmas Eve. The child was unharmed.
Police said the couple returned home to find her slumped against the kitchen counter. A police report said she tried to walk but fell down multiple times. That’s when the child’s mother became alarmed and called an ambulance.
Police said the sitter was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.362 percent, which is more than four times the legal limit for driving of 0.08 percent.
