Two airlifted from Richmond crash

A head-on collision in Richmond Sunday afternoon sent four people to the hospital, officials said.

The Richmond Fire Department responded to the crash on Route 12, south of Hill Road, around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, officials confirmed.

A woman and a young passenger from an SUV involved in the crash were taken by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries. An update on their conditions was not available late Sunday.

Another passenger in the SUV and the driver of a second car both were taken to Centegra Hospital in McHenry with injuries that are not life-threatening, officials said Sunday night.

Three people from a third car involved in the crash were not injured.

Richmond Police are still investigating the accident.
