Petition deadline nears for Buffalo Grove parks seats

Two current Buffalo Grove Park District Commissioner positions for four-year terms and one unexpired two-year term are open for election in the April 9, 2013 Consolidated Election.

Petitions can be picked up between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., Mondays and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays at the Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Drive in Buffalo Grove.

Those interested in running for a Buffalo Grove Park District Commissioner seat must be a registered voter and have been a resident of the Buffalo Grove Park District for at least one year prior to the election.

Petition filings will be accepted on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the office of the Buffalo Grove Park District, 530 Bernard Drive, Buffalo Grove. Should a lottery be needed, it will be held on Jan. 2 to determine candidate placement on the ballot. Park district offices will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25. The last day to file petitions will be Dec. 26.
