Think about true cost of bargains

Walmart is making record profits, yet its employees struggle to make ends meet, and many of them are on public assistance.

Typically it is these very rich people who are attacking people for being on public assistance. Yet, they are the very ones creating the necessity for such programs. We all are subsidizing Walmart’s workforce, without having to set foot in their stores.

The Walton family of Walmart has more wealth than the bottom 40 percent of America. They have more money than they can spend in a lifetime. Yet that refuse to pay their workers a livable wage. How much money does one family need? When is it enough?

It is not even enough that they don’t pay their workers a livable wage, but they compound the insult with erratic scheduling, inconsistent or limited hours all to avoid providing benefits.

Many people shop at Walmart for the low prices without considering the cost of those lower prices. Is it worth it? Like many other things going wrong in our world today, this practice also leads to an unsustainable future.
