Elgin

• Dennis W. Perry, 28, of the 7900 block of Ridgefield Road in Crystal Lake, was arrested Tuesday at a store in the 300 block of South Randall Road and charged with retail theft, according to a police report. The store's security personnel detained Perry after he pushed a cart with $609 worth of merchandise past the cashier. Police also learned Perry previously had stolen two LCD flat-screen TVs valued at $576 from another big box store on the 1100 block of South Randall Road, the report said. Perry had two McHenry County warrants for his arrest and was on parole. Perry's bail was set at $60,000 in bond court Wednesday. His next court date is Dec. 20.

• David Schaefer, 18, of the 0-100 block of Galigan Road in Gilberts, appeared in bond court Wednesday on charges of making a false report regarding the theft of a 1995 Geo Tracker on Sept. 24, according to court documents. Schaefer's bail was set at $60,000. His next court date is Dec. 20.
