Man stabbed in Lake Zurich parking lot

Police are asking for help in finding a young man who stabbed another man early Wednesday outside a Lake Zurich McDonald's, authorities said.

A 21-year-old man was stabbed twice in the abdomen in the McDonald's parking lot at 653 S. Rand Road at 1:53 a.m., according to a statement released by Lake Zurich police Cmdr. David Bradstreet.

“It appears to be random,” Bradstreet said. “It appears there was some sort of altercation in the parking lot that led to this.”

The victim was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington. Bradstreet did not know what condition the victim was in.

The attacker, who police described as white, tall and thin and between the ages of 17 and 22, with short brown hair and no facial hair, left the scene in a dark-colored car, according to the statement.

A passenger in the offender's vehicle was also described by police as white and between the ages of 17 and 22, with curly light brown hair. The statement said a witness said the passenger was tall and thin and wore “skater” clothing.

Police are asking anyone who has information on the stabbing to call the Lake Zurich police at (847) 719-1695. Information can be provided anonymously, and anyone who provides valid information may be eligible to receive a cash reward.
