Holiday event for dogs in Schaumburg

Dress your pup in jingle bells and get ready for a great event this weekend. Schaumburg Park District’s Jingle Paws is set for noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Meinecke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg. Snowy activities include a treat hunt, agility course, photo with Santa, a free play area and a costume contest. Awards will be given out to the winners of “Best Dog/Owner Look-a-like Costume,” “Best Puppy in Costume,” “Best Senior in Costume,” “Best Overall Holiday Themed Costume” and “Best Recreation Interpretation.” The first 50 dogs signed up will receive a holiday treat! All dogs must have current shots. Attach records to the registration form or bring to Meinecke Recreation Center. The resident cost is $2 per person and $5 per dog, and the nonresident cost is $3 per person and $7 per dog. For more information, call (847) 985-2143 or visit parkfun.com.
