Geller ads do more harm than good

Pamela Geller’s “anti-Jihad” ad only does more harm than good. Religion is a choice that people proudly make. Geller’s ad assumes that Jihad has something to do with violence and hate.

As a Latino-American convert to Islam, nowhere in my studies of the Quran have I encountered such teachings. True jihad is a struggle against one’s own based desires.

Today, Jihad will only be won intellectually with the pen. Geller’s ad will not help to build any good relations with other faiths, and that seems to be her goal — to break bridges. Islam means peace and embraces all faiths as a part of Islam. In order for mankind to continue to progress, ads like Geller’s should be condemned, and instead we should work together for peace.
