Holiday train stopping in Gurnee

Canadian Pacific Railroad’s Holiday Train will stop once again in Gurnee. The brightly decorated train raises awareness of local hunger problems by encouraging attendees to bring a nonperishable food item for donation to a local food pantry. The train is scheduled to arrive near Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave., at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Musical entertainment begins at 4:30 p.m. CP’s Holiday Train program has raised more than $6.4 million and 2.6 million pounds of food since the first ran in 1999. The 2012 entertainers on the U.S. train include The Claytones and Canadian Country Music Hall of Famer Tracey Brown.
