Lincolnshire Rotary makes donation to CASA

Submitted by Friedlander Communications

A check for $3,000 was presented Oct. 25 by Valerie McGhee, president of the Lincolnshire Morning Star Rotary, to Wendy LaPlaca, program director for CASA Lake County in Vernon Hills.

McGhee, executive director of Sedgebrook in Lincolnshire, made the presentation at a Rotary breakfast meeting at Walker Bros Original Pancake House, Lincolnshire. The proceeds are from the Rotary club’s Sept. 13 golf outing in Buffalo Grove.

LaPlaca said the gift will allow CASA to train three more volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in Lake County. Many of these children live in unsafe environments and are affected by issues such as mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction.
