Grading the Bears at San Francisco

Quarterback D

What a rough debut for Jason Campbell. An abominable O-line didn’t help his cause, but neither did his lack of timing and wayward throws.

Offensive line F

Porous doesn’t do justice in discussing this group’s effort Monday night. Phil Emery ought to draft O-lineman in the first four rounds next year.

Running backs D+

One of the few bright spots on an ugly night was Matt Forte gaining 63 yards. But on 21 carries? Not good enough.

Receivers D

You know it’s not your night when Devin Hester leads the way with 3 catches for 23 yards.

Defense

Defensive line D

A great play by Stephen Paea early on was the highlight. After that? Not much. At all.

Linebackers D+

After some solid play the past few games, this group really struggled, at times looking awfully slow.

Defensive backs D

Niners receivers and tight ends were open all night. And I mean all night.

Special teams C-

Devin Hester’s most exciting return was for a 15-yard loss. But the player of the night for the Bears just might have been Adam Podlesh (46.8 avg.), who really, really needed a good performance.

Coaching D-

Not sure why the Bears came out so flat, but they did. And that’s on the coaches. So is the lack of response to virtually everything the Niners threw their way.
