Schaumburg receives Governor’s Sustainability Award

The village of Schaumburg was among 21 Illinois companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Sustainability Award during a Nov. 9 luncheon in Oak Brook. The awards were presented by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, a unit of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois. Since 1987, ISTC has presented Governor’s Awards to Illinois organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence through outstanding and innovative sustainability practices that will also save money and help the economy. “We are proud that the village of Schaumburg continually works to protect the environment and helps sustain the future,” said Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson.
