Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble to stage ‘Nutcracker’

Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble will present its 18th annual production of “The Nutcracker” Friday, Nov. 30, Saturday, Dec. 1, and Sunday, Dec. 2, at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St., Barrington.

Guest artists from national and Chicago regional dance companies, including River North Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance, NoMiLaMad, and Southwest Florida Ballet, will perform lead soloist roles and will be joined by 75 student dancers from the Northwest suburban area.

“The Nutcracker” performance times and ticket prices are as follows: 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

Preferred seating is $28 per ticket; adult seating $25 per ticket; seniors and students $22 per ticket. Online purchases are for “best available” seating. Balcony seating for the Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. performances is available at the reduced rate of $15 per ticket.

BYDE and “The Nutcracker” cast will host a “Tea with Clara” before both of the 2 p.m. matinee performances at 12:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy holiday treats while meeting and taking photos with characters.
