Embrace diversity, bring us together

After the election, some of us have great fear and are trembling. Due to the mesmerizing effect of certain TV gurus and their books, some of us are now negatively consumed by Obama’s win. Because of this unforeseeable event, we feel now that traditional white folks control/values are gone — America is lost.

Not so. In this election, we need not assume the role of victim but a new role of learner. Would it not be best for us, we are a blessed people, in this new situation to expand our TV viewing, reading and discussion with folks different from ourselves in hopes that this could lead us to holistic levels of integrity and truth related to the demographic facts of America — Latino, black, Asian, women, the old and the young. By doing this, we can do what is best for Americans.

This diversity is not something for us to fear. Faith in a diverse people living in a democracy and voting together is something we all witnessed together in our election. I believe we are a great people for doing this.
