Tiger Sharks remember their fellow teammate

In the world of competitive swimming, there are many ways you can step up. By working harder to achieve your personal best time; by cheering on your teammates; and just by getting on those blocks and stepping up to start the next race.

This past summer, the Palatine Park District Tiger Sharks swim team lost a member of their aquatic family when 13-year-old Ben Stepp passed away during a tragic accident.

This past weekend, at the second annual Fall Frenzy swim meet, hosted by the Tiger Sharks at Elk Grove High School, the team stepped up once again in remembrance of their friend. Tiger Sharks swim team members wore specially created “Stepp Up” shirts for the meet to honor and remember their teammate, Ben Stepp.
