Edward Foundation gala raises record $640,000

The Edward Foundation raised a record $640,000 at its 22nd annual gala, “The Big Gig: Bella Italia. “

Nearly 700 people attended “The Big Gig,” which is the largest fundraiser of the year for the foundation and supports Edward Hospital programs and services that directly impact patients.

A portion of this year’s proceeds are going directly to Linden Oaks at Edward, a 108-bed behavioral health hospital on Edward’s Naperville campus with outpatient offices in Naperville, Plainfield, St. Charles, Woodridge and Yorkville. Linden Oaks treats adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety disorders, chemical dependency, addiction, depression, eating disorders, geriatric conditions and self-injury.

The record fundraising amount, which was $120,000 more than the previous high recorded in 2011, includes revenue from ticket sales, sponsorships, ads, donations, live and silent auctions, and a paddle raise during the event Oct. 13 at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge.

The foundation raises money to help Edward Hospital provide high-quality services, technology and facilities.

Over the past year, foundation funds have contributed to the opening of the first Ronald McDonald Family Room in Illinois, a three-wing expansion of Linden Oaks at Edward, the opening of the Western suburbs’ first hybrid operating room and access to care for patients in need.
