Jaycees holding pizza-tasting contest in Hoffman Estates

The Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg Jaycees will be holding a contest to determine who makes the best pizza in the Schaumburg Township area 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Schaumburg Township Hall, One Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates.

For $6, people will be able to sample a variety of pizzas, vote for their favorites and help the community. Kids under 4 are free and a discount rate is available for families of four or more. Restaurants will submit entries in three categories: thin crust, pan and specialty. This is a blind taste test and votes will be tallied to determine the winner and runner-up in each category. Profits from this event will be used to help local charities.
