Missing NJ girl’s body found in recycling bin

CLAYTON, N.J. — Authorities in New Jersey say they don’t have any suspects in the killing of a 12-year-old girl, whose body was found in a home’s recycling bin two days after she was reported missing.

Authorities confirmed Autumn Pasquale’s body was found in a home’s recycling container in Clayton around 10 p.m. Monday.

Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton has not yet labeled the death a homicide. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Dalton says if someone is responsible for her death, they’ll be held accountable.

The discovery of the body came about 48 hours after her family reported her missing and two hours after community members gathered blocks away for a candlelight vigil filled with both tears and hope.

Officials have not released the cause because the autopsy results are pending.
