Why pay for more parks in Gilberts?

As a senior citizen I am worried about the news that some people have persuaded the Village of Gilberts to put on the November ballot a vote on a new tax for park improvements. I am hoping some reporter can find out what the people who asked for this want. Could it be heated portable toilets, mink covered bleachers, electric scoreboards, paid coaches and umpires?

They have a lot of parks now. I hardly ever see them being used except when there are games being played. As a senior, I saw the value of my home go down and my real estate tax bill go up. I and some of the other seniors here in Gilberts cannot afford to pay more. Don’t these people realize people are losing their homes because they can afford the taxes now?

Why don’t they hold fundraisers to pay for whatever they claim they need? Why not volunteer to clean and mow the parks themselves? Why do they feel the need to take away the little money we seniors have for more unused parks in the village?
