Man charged with secretly recording women

COLUMBIA, Md. — Police have arrested a 42-year-old man they say secretly videotaped two women in their Maryland condominium.

Michael McKenny of Columbia was arrested Thursday night after Howard County police received tips from the public who saw a released video of the man. He is charged with burglary, visual surveillance with prurient intent and other offenses and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Police did not know if McKenny has a lawyer.

Detectives say McKenny knew the identities of the roommates and had stolen and copied the key to their condo in Ellicott City outside Baltimore. The women discovered the video camera hidden in a closet last month.

Detectives say the camera was first set up in June, and the man went back into the condo several times to move it around.
