Wis. state parks offer Halloween activities

MADISON, Wis. — State parks and forests across Wisconsin are offering Halloween hikes, hayrides and trick-or-treating as the holiday approaches.

Heritage Hill State Park in Green Bay, for example, will offer trick-or-treating, scary storytelling and a costume contest. The Kettle Moraine State Forest-Northern Unit will offer Halloween nature hikes. Devil’s Lake State Park is offering a torch-lit hike, a bonfire and treats.

Point Beach State Forest is offering pumpkin carving, Governor Nelson State Park has scheduled a hike and bonfire and Mirror Lake State Park has set up a Halloween mystery candlelight hike.

The events are generally scheduled to run this weekend and next. A full list of all the parks and forests offering activities and their dates is available on the state Department of Natural Resources’ website.
