Barn fire that hurt two firefighters under investigation

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries at the Barrington Hills barn fire Wednesday morning that remains under investigation Thursday.

The barn on the 21000 block of Ridge Road was unoccupied when Barrington firefighters received the call at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, and no rescues of people or animals were required.

Thirty-three fire departments and 10 water tankers were used to fight the fire, which was declared controlled at 9:58 a.m.

Firefighters remained on the scene salvaging the property until 12:53 p.m., when they returned it to the control of its owner.
